hi,

http://uk.aldi.com/special_buys/product_231.html

http://uk.aldi.com/images/data_product/1884535734429f380d89117.jpg

looking else where it looks like a Medion PNA175?

i need to know if this unit can handle the speed camera database that is provided by this helpful site or from other sources?

what do i need to do to install poi's and the speed camera database? what do i need to purchase additionally? is it easy? can it be done? do i have to buy poi's? are there free poi's? etc etc etc

please any help is very much appreciated Smile as this is a present for someone and i dont want it to be 'crap' as its not like a tomtom go which is too expensive.

thank you forum members.

sorry back agin you need to buy nothing from the suplyer when buying your sat nav system, you then need to go to warner points of intrest overlay for the speed cams this will cost i think about £20 on the net
then download it to your pda via active sync make sure you get a computer lead when buying your 175

I just bought one of these this morning... :D

Its an MDPNA 200s

I've tried customising it with the instructions for the MDPNA 150 but without success - so am wondering if I will be able to install ANY other applications of POI databases...?? Crying or Very sad

Good news. I have managed to reliably hack the PNA200! :D

Pretty much it's the same as described by the GPS passion boys:-

http://www.gpspassion.com/download/custom150e.zip (read the txt file)

I didn't use the registry files provided I just backed up the registry directory keys below [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init]
and edited entry "Launch80"="ST.exe" to be "Launch80"="DoNothing.exe"

However when you exit from the navigation application the TaskBar disappears.

To solve this I copied showtaskbar.exe to the directory \\Windows\Programs
and created a shortcut to showtaskbar.exe in \\Windows\Desktop

To get the task bar back you click on the shortcut to showtaskbar.exe! not pretty but it works.....

I'm not sure if this means you get millions of copies of showtaskbar.exe running but I doubt it! Wink

Hope this helps all those ALDI fans out there......

Cheers
Bryan

I'm not sure,

I haven't been able to run OziexplorerCE which was the application I wanted to use.

I've downloded the two lots of dll's that allow it to run up.

But when I touch any of the icons I get an exception.... :-(

Cheers

Hi there.

Just to say I purchased this yesterday and so far its been very good.

I have used the POI_Warner to add the speed camera data (not from this site but form POIHandler). I know it cost me some money, but the good news is that it worked first time and warned me on the way to work to slow down when I approached the speed cameras.

Manual is a bit poor and it took we a while to work out how to put addresses in but I got there in the end.

One question though, can anybody advise how I can a more detailed map of France.

Thanks in advance.

I also got one of these yesterday, and am keen to get the speed cameras on it!

What exactly do I need to do?

(Please keep it simple - I am fairly familiar with pocket pc, but am slightly confused as this isn't a ppc!)

Many thanks :D
