I purchased a Sat-Nav Dell based sytem from PDAMODS last October 05.
The Dell PDA proved to be faulty and after much hagling with PDAMODS the best they would offer was to repair the PDA at a reduced cost of £50.
Isent the PDA and a cheque for the agreed amount in November and even though I have e-mailed them many times since all I have have silly excuses and promises which have proved to be worthless!! .They are now ignoring all of my e-mails .
THE TOTAL COST OF YHE SYSTEM AND ACCESSORIES WAS MORE THAN £600 and I have not had ONE DAYS use of it.
THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU DEAL WITH PDAMODS.M

Updated list of alternate trading names,

ebay Uncle_sams
ebay Superdog 5000
ebay nex_gensales
PDAMODS
Rikaline UK
Vivo Technologies
Thinkdeals
Thinkprice
PK Ashar
Sanjeev Ashar

Youve gotta think that surely a genuine company wouldn't require so many aliases.

elessar,

While I understand your dissatisfaction regarding your dealings with PDAMODS, it isn't really necessary to post an identical message in several separate threads.

With this in mind, I have deleted the other six messages, leaving this one on view, as it was the first one you posted.

Dont you get a years guarantee with goods? you would be best to contact your local trading standards service if they are tyrying to get you to pay for a repair...

I have just bought a gps from these people and it went wrong. Your best course of action is through Ebay and Paypal, thats if your problem is identified straight away.

I have had the offensive emails from 'Tom' and will be taking action. It also looks like they use an 'English' type name for the contact for each alias trading name. Tom for example on nex_gen has a problem with his english. I also bought something from pda_cases without realizing it was the same people and noticed there that others had complained.

You only have to look at the number of sales each of the alias trading names is making on Ebay to realise that this is a huge business for the trader Mr Ashar. We are talking 10,000 sales per large alias account he has set up. He is now selling solar gps's at £99 each plus extortionate mailing (£9.99 when you can send recorded delivery the package for under a fiver)- he probably buys them for the mailing price and makes £90 profit.

Wouldnt be suprised if the guy and his brother are not driving around in a Rolls/BMW/Jag/Merc and laughing at the taxman and at everyone else who buys from them through ebay.

If you can risk buying and hope it doesnt go wrong then I think their delivery is ok, they are only really reselling other peoples goods. They have no backup however where things go wrong so any warrantee is useless, unless they have a replacement in stock and are willing to exchange.

I would also ensure you have no dealings with anyone operating from 230 Kilburn Lane London as that the address they all use. You will also find that he has set up all kinds of domains which I assume he is using not just to seperate emails for his trading accounts but also to use for the false images that he uses in his sales to enable him to swap the advert after you have purchased the item. Have a look through the whois domain searches - it produces interesting results as he registers new domains with other domains/companies.

For example, he was selling a bluetooth gps fuzion which is a polestar pbt-111 and was advertising it as 16 channel when its 12. He changed the advert on his back end server but ebay still have a staic thumbnail that Ashar is using at http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/pict/52150615906464_0.jpg this still has the 16 on it which was a reference to the 16 channels. I would also say that he advertises on all his adverts, speed camera warnings included - this is a copy of free software from this and other sites that he rips off. He now has included on his solar adverts - walking/mountain biking - am sorry - but is he real - as a mountain walker i dont carry a pc round with me or pda to link to these devices - give me a Garmin anyday. His solar gps also works in his car glove box - laughable, especially for 30 hours runtime in the dark Smile

Its a wonder this guys operations havent featured on the BBC watchdog. And certainly, he gives Ebay a bad name.
