Displaying POI

Destinator 3.0.75

P69 of manual clearly states that any checked poi categories will be displayed whileyou drive.

Has anyone got this to work?

I can see poi items in he list but when i drive past petrol stations that I know to be in POI I cant get them to display while I drive. This would be handy when driving in unknown territory and looking for petrol without having to destinate one.

There is a known "feature" in Destinator that has to do with the way the screen is refreshed. Basically, map drawing has precedence over POI display, and by the time the map is drawn and the system could start doing the POIs it's already time again for the next map update. If you actually stop (for example at a traffic light) you will then see the POIs pop up.

I guess HSTC would have to greatly improve their map drawing routine to fix this.

Hmmm. That makes sense, but I tested this today by parking in my local town between 4 banks all with cash dispensers in the POI, even whilst stationary none of them showed on the map.

What you are basically saying is even if it did work, its naff anyway.
