Static Navigation on SIRF IIe/LP chipsets

Is there any advantage of using Static Navigation on SIRF II chipsets or is pretty much the same result with SN disabled?

If you use it for street navigation then you should see a smoother behaviour when you have stopped - no jumping around of the position.

If you use it for outdoors activities like geocaching then it will pretty quickly make you use strong language and maybe even physical force.

I personally think this is one of the most useless features ever invented.
