Dave,

Here is the reply, they seem to think it's a suggestion not a bug ????

Has anyone tried to use Sirf output from the Emtac BT reciever with TTN2.1.

Whenever I use the Sirf setting I end up in the sea, is there an issue with TTN and the Sirf protocol or am I doing something wrong?

Phil

Phil,

It sound like the old bugs are still in the sirf driver. Dave and I spent load of time trying to debug this last year using Tom Tom 1.5.

The issue is the way the Tom Tom driver treats any location west of the Greenwich Meridian. I cannot remember the full details but basically it works fine if you live on the east coast but moving west your position gets thrown way out.

We raised this with TomTom they obviously didnt think it important enough to address.

Yep I asked if this was going to be fixed in TTN2 and had no response back. The last communication I have on this was in late December and TomTom said they would investigate but couldn't replicate the fault.

Think it's time to apply a little more pressure.

Maybe if they move their offices (or at least testers) into the Western hemisphere they may be able to see the problem. Strangely all of Holland is in the Eastern Hemisphere so they need to send someone to the western parts of France to witness the problem.

Paul, I'm going to do a further test just to make sure it's still broke (I'm sure it is), but if you raise a support query with them, I'll then also chase up my original case number, that might start getting something done about it.

Dave,

I've just logged a support request with TT re: the Sirf problem.

I'll post the response

Phil, can you mail me your case number as I'm going to talk to TomTom about this and I'll quote both case numbers.
