Hi,

I am new to GPS and Ipaqs Embarassed

I need to have a handheld one for work which shows altitude and Destinator seems to be the only one that shows altitude on a PDA, which I need for work also, for customer orders and details etc.

I have a 2nd-hand Ipaq 3630 with bluetooth jacket, a cheap BT-77 Bluetooth GPS reciever and an OEM copy of destinator 3.

Everything seems to be installed ok and working fine, the bluetooth devices are paired ok and 'see' each other but I cant ever seem to pick up any satellites.

I had this all working with TomTom 3, so I know the devices work, and work together, and it picks up sats in my area (Aberdeen) very easily.

I have used the 'Find GPS' option and it always finds the same thing, the BT-GPS with the following options set - COM4 57600 and NMEA.

Can you offer any advice on this problem ?

Regards, Haglis.

If TomTom is still installed it may well block the BT port. Read the article on BT GPS installation for TomTom plus other programs.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

TomTom has been uninstalled, whether properly or not, I cant tell !?

Is there anyway I can check if there is anything leftover from this install ?

Is it worth while me trying to uninstall and reinstall Destinator 3 incase I missed something out ?

Regards, Haglis.
