|
|
It's impossible to haggle down prices in Sweden!! Tryd everything, but the old man who ownd the shop was to obstinate.
I wonder of I who live in Sweden can order a ipaq from UK. The problem is that UK using 240 volt and me in Sweden uses 230 volt. (I hope the numbers is right)
There is no adapter in the parcel that transform 240 to 230 volt?
And here is a qustion for Fortuna Clip-On users: If I order an clip-on from UK. Is I then getting a charger that allow me to use ut in Sweden?
Have a nice day! |

The adapter that I have with each of my Ipaqs specifically states Iput of 100-240V. It will autosense the correct voltage for you. Try www.expansys.com. They are very competitive with Ipaq prices.Your 230V falls within that range so you should be perfectly alright.
To be honest I don't know about the fortuna but have a look here:
http://pocketgpsworld.com/gpshardware.php
Implies that any 5v power supply could be used with the right connector. Might even be the same as the ipaq, like the EMTAC/Socket BT Receiver (which definately is and may be a better idea if you're not entirely sure about the charging in your country.

FWIW, the European standard is 220-240v so you'd be fine anyhow, all you'd need at most is a plug adapter to convert the UK 3-Pin to the Euro type ![Thumbs Up](modules/Forums/images/smiles/custom2.gif) _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thank you for the reply! (thanks to Andygrove to)
Are you sure that everything will work out if I buy a 3Pin-Sweden adapter?
Is the ipaq exact the same as the Swedish version? You know, we in sweden have some, for you strange keys: Å, Ä, Ö. |

As Darren said, the difference between 230 and 240 volts is not an issue.
Also you can get language support add-ons for the iPAQ to extend the characters available to you. _________________ Ian.

Positive. If it was an Icebox then he may have had a 12v accessory socket which is not the same as a cigarette lighter socket, these are often fitted in the boots of cars to power such devices. Still 12v though. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I'm sure I saw the exact item you'd require in Claas Ohlsson in Stockholm for less than SEK80.... if not it's not a heavy item to post and they are very cheap in the UK - be happy to get one and post it out to you and come to some amicable arrangement on paying for it. |

I can't say for your Fortuna, but my iPAQ 5555 is going to Holland to be repaired. It would have gone today but HP changed the pickup day to tomorrow without telling me! ![Angry](modules/Forums/images/smiles/custom3.gif) _________________ Tim |
