|
|
Hi,
I have searched the forum but cannot find any info on the following problem.
I am running TTN6 on a Medion PDA with everything working fine except for:
The last 3 digits of the post code search are missing.
I can enter say NG12 but have not option to put the remainder of the code in.
Any ideas?
Kind Regards |

Do you have a Folder on the SD Card called 'zip'?
If yes, has it got a file in it called Great_Britain.Postal? _________________ Richard

Are you using Navigate to ... | Address | Postcode or Navigate to .... | Address | Street & House Number? _________________ Richard

Hi,
I use Navigate to}Address}Postcode
A clarification to my original Question, (sorry) I CAN enter the Full post code but the list that comes up only has the first digits.
Example:
I enter NG22 4PH but the lists that come up only show all the NG's from NG1 to NG22? ect, all the Nottingham codes!
I then have to select the one with the nearest first 2 digits i.e NG22, I then get a screen with all of the streets in NG22 to select.
I used to put the Full postcode in TTN5 and it would take me to that post code without further selection.
Handy as sometimes I only have the postcode to work to? |

Here's a quote from Royal Mail website, royalmail.com (NG22 4PH) ...
Quote: | Unfortunately we could not find this postcode. Please check it. If the postcode is correct but we still can’t find it, please read the help below to find out what to do. |
If Royal Mail can't find it, not many satnavs will have it!! Give it a try with one which works - CF48 4RJ (my GO720 took me there day before yesterday). _________________ Dennis

Hi,
The NG postcodes were examples, not actual sought after addresses!
However, If i put an "actual" postcode in (TS17 6AL) in both formats i.e TS176AL or TS17 6AL, I still only get a list of TS codes, upto the 4 first digits, I then have to select TS17 Stockton On tees to bring another screen up which then lists all the road numbetrs and names in TS17!!
Should TTN6 allow you to enter the FULL post code and navigate straight to that or, has this facility been removed.
Think i much prefferred TTN5! |

I can type in the full postcode and with each letter or number I type it narrows it down to a smaller and smaller list. |

Richard asked if you have a folder called "zip" you say you have a folder called "Zip", is that correct? Also, you say "Great_Britain.postal" & "Great_Britainpostal.ver". My files are called "Great_Britain.Postal" and "Great_BritainPostal.ver"

When I go into Navigate to | Address | Postcode the 1st line displayed is "AB101AF Upper...". When I tap T that changes to "TA100AA Moor...". When I tap S that is then refined to "TS101AA Walker...". Tapping 1 makes no difference, because the 1st code listed starts with TS1. When I tap 7 that is then refined to "TS170AA Thornaby...". If I tap {Space}, no space is displayed in the entry field. When I tap 6 that is then refined to "TS176AA Yale...". Tapping A makes no difference, because the 1st code listed starts with TS176A. When I tap L that is then refined to "TS176AL Steph...". Hey presto
surfnboard wrote: | I use Navigate to}Address}Postcode | Actually, now that I check, your description exactly matches what my software does if I use Navigate to|Address|Street and house number. I presume that this means that TT is not seeing your Postcode file correctly. _________________ Jock

Hi BGF,
When I tap Navigate to...}Address}Postcode I get a blinking curser on the top line where the postcode is input, underneath shows a list of my recent destination city's!!
When I tap and enter T I get TA1 (Taunton)plus a list of TA's below that.
When I tap S (TS) i get TS1 ( (Middlesborough) at the top and a list of TS's below that.
When I tap 1 (TS1) nothing alters.
When I tap 7 (TS17) I get TS17 (Stockton On Tees) at the top and a list of TS's below that.
When I tap space, nothing alters.
When I tap 6 (TS17 6) Nothing alters. The same if no space is used.
When I tap A (TS17 6A) Nothing alters.
When I tap L (TS17 6AL) Nothing alters.
Something strange is going on here!! |
