Seemed to work OK when I first had the device, but now simply get a message saying "cannot communicate with the update server - try again later". Have been retrying all day since 9am (now 6 hrs later) with no success. Have checked Wi-Fi/internet is working, and reconnected the device to my Wi-Fi but still nothing.
I would be really grateful for any suggestions. |

Try cabling direct to your router to confirm it's not a WiFi issue, in any case Garmin don't recommend WiFi for map updates if that's what you're attempting? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I am just trying to see if there are any updates available - not got as far as trying to download anything! I can't see an option in settings for direct connection to the router. |

Might be worth just doing it the old fashioned way, USB to PC and launch Garmin Express. _________________ DashCam:

Was thinking along those lines - have never installed Express as the Wi-Fi update worked previously.
Quick thought - would failing to register the device cause updating to cease? I cannot remember if I did it on purchase, and can't find an email to suggest that I did!
EDIT - Forget the last question, have found the registration email now... |

Thanks - that worked a treat. I assume I can also register my handheld Garmin GPS with Express and use it to check for software updates on that device too? |

Yes, all my devices, including handhelds, are listed in Express _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
