PGPSW on GARMIN 50 LMT-D Questions please

Hi,

Im thinking of getting a 50 LMT-D sat nav and installing the pgpsw database.

At the moment i use cameralert on android but having to do away with that

I have a couple of questions

1) When approaching a speed camera what warning will i get

2) if i go over speed limit during camera what warning will i get

3) in a average speed camera zone does it tell me if i go over 50 for example

4) is it directional like cameralert

1) Depends on how you install it. Using Kremmens convertor I get a voice that warns me of the camera along with it's speed at a distance you can set.

2) Not sure. Mine is set to only give one warning as it's all I need.

3) No

4) Can be I believe with some extra work, I don't bother

It also can't drive the car for you ... so I'm afraid having been warned you as the driver need to take action IF you're going too fast Wink

Just to add to Sus's answer to 4. It's not directional as in CA, but you can set it up, with yet another oiece of softwate to give an alert such as "Fixed Speed Camera, 30 Miles Per Hour, West" Telling you which direction the camera is trapping.
It's a bit of a faff to initially set up the process, but once you have done it a couple of times, it only takes a couple of mins. Nowhere as easy as CA though, but well worth it. The default Garmin just gives a quiet bong and a blue dot indicating the cam's position, not to mention multiplke alerts for overspeed ac co-located cams (both ways on M/W gantry).

Thanks guys I would of like a warning if I go over speed limit by accident whilst approaching or going past camera after initial warning mistakes do happen I though there was a overspeed warning

A recent idea I put into the Converter was an adjustable overspeed warning limit.

Garmin sometimes is a bit too keen to warn you, again, when you are even slightly under the limit so you can, say, set the overspeed for a 50mph camera to trigger at anything up to 57mph, but no more, (10% + 2mph for those that like to gamble).

Shame we can't trap the alerts and UI to make our own SPECS calculations as you can do on iGO.

Also considering getting a Garmin 50 LMT-D after many years with TomTom. Can the Garmin be set to warn for cameras "only on route" when using Kremmen's program and the PGPS world cameras?

That's good news. The off route cameras can be a bit distracting.
I'm trying to work out if I am going to like the Garmin before buying one. The newer TomTom's don't have the features I want.
I would like something thinner than my old TomTom GO710 as I want to mount it on a Brodit Proclip in my new car.

You can mount all Garmins on a ProClip ....

Assuming you can still get the Brodit ball mount. I've got one in stock just in case.

What it is is a small chunky 1" piece of plastic with a 4 hole backplate and the Garmin ball on the other end.

Buy a cheap vent mount and remove the clips then either drill it or use double sided tape.
