I've done this on a couple of iPhones. But the DiskAid software was broken for a while. I haven't checked it with iOS 7 on the iPhone yet. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Still works fine, you just need the latest version of diskaid now. I think it is something like v5.48
There is a beta for diskaid 6 but the last stable release works with ios7 _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert

I have diskaid and trying to copy the files from my folder on computer to the iphone on disc aid. I have selected the right folder etc. its the same as the installation picture. when I select them and click open to start copying them I get a error message as follows
Error opening destination file, close any other application on your device that may be locking this file.
I have made sure the app is closed by double clicking the home button on iphone, infact I have closed all apps and there is no other programs open on my computer either. ant help guys. pleeessseeeee _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

The instructions are a little old now, not sure if they have been updated since apple locked out the system in IOS6
1. You need to make sure you have the latest version of TomTom for iphone. v1.15.1 is the latest (POIs only worked from 1.14 onwards)
2. You need all the files from the instructions for the camera database for the iphone 4 (pgpsw-iphone-tt-1.7-iphone4)
3. You are trying to copy the files to the wrong directory with diskaid. You have to create a directory called POI in the documents section and that is where you put all the camera files. icons, ogg sounds and OV2s, in fact all custom POIs you want go in here.
4. You will need to copy the mapsettings.cfg file from (pgpsw-iphone-tt-1.7-iphone4) and overwrite your version or else you will not be warned when near, so you will lose any favourites, but if you get an old version of POIEdit you can create a POI category from your mapsettings file before hand if you don't want to lose them.
Once done correctly it quickly becomes second nature but it does work. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

No that is correct they will work fine afterwards its just when you copy in the camera mapsettings it will wipe any you had originally.
The POIedit was only to allow you to create your own POI file from your original favourites if you had a lot. I had about 30 favs when I came to put the cameras on so rather than lose them I now have a POI category called Old Favs which I built myself from my original mapsettings file _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

Apologies for jumping onto your thread.
I have just changed from my tomtom XL to the iphone app. Using diskaid I have managed to copy the camera database over to the POI folder, I then copied the map settings file to the GB & Ireland map folder after renaming the original file .bac
I can see the icons and my favourites etc., but on my drive home this evening the warnings were not working.
The only directories that I could see, within the app are POI and the MAP folder with the original map settings config file in. There was no document folder as shown in the tutorial.
Any suggestions on how to get the alerts working please. |
