|
|
Hi,
During my uploading a newly purchased central europe map, my one XL unit crashed and had to be re-formatted.
When the download completed my unit no longer has my UK & Ireland map and I can't find them on my laptop anywhere..
How do I get the originally supplied UK & Ireland map back - any ideas?
Thanks,
Max |

Was your UK & ROI the original or an update on your device? If it was an update, you should be able to find it in compressed format here:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\maps\ and you can reinstall maanually.
See here:

Also, connect your device to Home. Manage my Unit (2nd page)--Items on Computer--Maps. What does it show there? _________________ David |

Thanks for the advice.
The UK & Ireland map was the original on the unit, and I cannot find it anywhere on my laptop.
Also, when in the manage my unit in TomTom Home, under the maps section is only the central Europe map - no UK. Thats the first place I looked when I realised it was missing of my unit. |

Without a backup, I'm afraid you are out of luck.......... _________________ David |

Sorted - I found a folder on my laptop called UK & Ireland dating back to 2009.
I've manually copied that tommy device outside of TomTom home and I now have both UK & Ireland and central Europe maps on my device.
About to back up via home too so all seems sweet.
Thanks for the help - it pointed me in the direction of finding the original uk map.

Thanks. In the process of a manual back up as described in above link. Once done will check for updates and then repeat above in a sub folder.
