|
|
When I've tried to use Live Services (Google) tonight I've got a message saying that my account is still active but I can pay for another 12 months for £47. Since my existing account for Live Services dosen't run out till 27/7/2011, I selected 'No', but I found that I couldn't continue using Live Services (Google) untill I clicked 'Yes'.
I now have an email requiring me to pay up within 14 days.
I think this is very naughty of TomTom. |

It appears they're trying to stop us paying monthly, when I and others have asked about this, TT support offer 3 months free and cancel the monthly sub, then we'll be obliged to pay annually thereafteras I believe the monthly sub is no longer an option. _________________ Mike

They are also asking me for £47.50 after I did the same. |

Got exactly the same problem. But I'm paid up for nearly two years, as I paid for a year at the the old price just before they reduced it and extended my subs accordingly, so I keep clicking "no".
But Google search is effectively disabled, as the unit won't take no for an answer when it asks if you want to extend your current subscription. It chucks you back, and when you press "Google" again, the same thing happens. An endless loop with no way to access the Google service you're already a paid up subscriber to! FFS!
What with this and the new software/SIM card débâcle, it seems Tomtom are on a kamikaze mission to p¡ss off as many customers as possible. If I wasn't locked in to a extended subscription for LIVE services, I'd be binning the bloody thing and moving on. |

I'm having the same problem. Just tried to use my LIVE services (I have a fully paid up TT subscription until sometime in 2011) and when I click to connect to google on the unit it says "To access this service, you need to connect you device to TomTom HOME.".
I rarely connect to TT Home as I can't be bothered with it - I just upload the speed cameras from Pocketgps every few months. It worked fine before and should continue to do so until my subscription runs out. I am going on holiday next week and was relying upon this feature as we are camping. NOT HAPPY!
I have a TT GO LIVE 750 which I bought with a 12 month LIVE subscription in Jan 2010. WTF is TT trying to do?!
Go 750 LIVE. 750 Europe map.
App 9.026 and Map v840.2566.

Go 950 LIVE. 850 Europe map.
Navcore 9.026 and 9.054. Problem originally started on 9.026 about 4 days ago.

Mike, I've got a 940 running 8.371.
I rang customer support as you suggested and the guy I spoke to hadn't heard of the problem before. He said that he'd escalate it.
Thanks for your help.
I've not upgraded to V9 since the PocketGPSWorld warning in the newsletter dated 23/7/10. Do you know if that's resolved? |

Just noticed - interestingly, I have the same issue as the above poster with Live services expiry dates.
i.e. "Live services" appears twice in the list.
"Local search with google" and weather shown as expiring 24/10/09 while all other services run till 3/11. |

940 8.371 and the same again. I entered it as a support question with TomTom. Google goves me the "Something went wrong. If this keeps happening check with TomTom HOME if there is a new application version available". I somehow don't think 9.054 is going to help with Live Services.
It has just now started telling me that my Live Services are still active (April 2012) and do I want to renew for a year. Well as I am on already on the prepaid with 21 months left, I do not want to renew. _________________ Drivelux
