Hi all
I have just discharged my batteries in the satmap (down to one red bar)
I then connected to charge the power pack and nothing ! I have replaced with normal batteries and the unit just will not switch on.
Really confused on this...........any ideas or resets ?
Many thanks for your time

Sounds odd but I had something similar once when one of the "new" batteries was slightly low on power. A good set of new batteries and all was well. _________________ LostMike

Mike,
I had the same problem a while ago but using the Li-Pol battery. The unit was as dead as a doornail.
Sent it back to Satmap who replaced the battery and all was well.I don't think from your post you are using the Li-Pol but it could be battery related in some way.

Sorry, from re reading your post you are using the Li-Pol.
I would suggest then a call to Satmap for a replacement.

I Have just returned from a six day walk along the Dales Way. Unit worked fine for five days through some pretty inclement weather, but when trying to boot up unit for last day after charging it up it went completely dead, this despite having tried both Li-Pol and Lithium batteries, so reading above comments was of great interest. My initial thoughts were that it had been the rain that had caused the problem, but on reading forum I am now wondering. Satmap have asked me to return unit. |

Or might it be the charger at fault? _________________ David

Thanks for all the replies.........
I am using the Li-Pol battery pack. However this has just been one of quite a few problems with the Active 10. Ie Data being loss, setting disappearing, taking a long time to lock on, won't work !
So I contacted Amazon today who offerred to give a refund (unit purchased in Feb 09) I have since purchased a new one today from another retailers and so far it appears to be much better than my old one, mainly locks on in seconds rather than minutes.
So I think maybe my old unit was a bit poorly, but I am happy.
Thanks again

As I said in my post I used both Li-Pol and brand new Lithium batteries in the original carriage both to no avail. So this should have ruled out the charger |

It was admittedly a longish shot - just seemed possible that if the Li-Pol was being charged while still connected to the Active10 (I didn't think it could be charged independently), and IF were charging it BEFORE trying the lithiums then a faulty charger (eg not cutting out on full charge) COULD have shorted out the unit itself. But obviously you know the sequence you went through. _________________ David
