Whatever Tomtom have done they certainly have not fixed the problem. I can't tell any difference from 8.300 Still slow update and stuttering voice.
In addition 8.301 wants to load loquendo v6 rather than v7.
IMHO 8.320 with Loquendo v7 voices is still the best version out there if you want to run 815 maps.. |

Before yesterday's update I only occasionally had the stuttering - usually at a 'complex' series of instructions - but not often.
Ironic then that the very first instruction to be iterated this morning after the update resulted in a very bad case of incomprehensible stuttering. I am hoping that will prove to be a one (or two)-off.
No noticeable improvement for me in screen refresh either. |

Since upgrade Operate My Go DOES NOT function, and does
not as in past offer file to d/load to fix.
TT Suport sent a DIY fix re removing Emulator files; that doesn't work either!
Have tried to post their instructions, but board doesn't like some part of format, that can't be resolved.
TRYING AGAIN WITH TT response.
If you receive any error message when using the 'Operate My device' feature of TomTom Home, then please do the following:-
STEP 1 Manually Delete the Emulator Files
- Open My Computer
- At the top, click on Tools - Folder Options
- Click on the View tab
- Select the Option 'Show Hidden files and folders' then click OK
- In My Computer go to the following folder:-
c:\Documents and Settings\~username~\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\~random string~\extenstions
- Delete all the files and folders inside the 'Extensions' folder.
STEP 2 Connect to your device
- Connect your device to the computer and switch it on
- Open TomTom Home
- Click on the 'Operate My Go/One' icon
- TomTom Home will ask you to download a file, please go ahead and do this
The Operate My device feature should now be working. _________________ Gel

before update had the stutter but not the screen lag, guess what, I now have both great work again from TT. will stick with 8.320 and the V7 voice on a memory card....watchdog sounds good...no more tomtoms for me until they release a model with upgraded hardware and not just a software tweak... |

I have no information that this update was actually supposed to cure the stuttering and or to improve screen refresh.
On my 520 with 810 maps I did have stuttering, but since I preferred the combination of recorded voice with TTS for the POI warnings etc it was no bother to me. Since the update I did a demo and the stuttering was not evident. However, that is not indicative of a fix, since the refresh and reboot can reduce the problem temporarily for some. It may come back at any time.
I can't find the release notes on the TomTom pages, which would have solved the question immediately - anyone have a link? or is it a case that TT are simply not letting on? |

True, but after waiting 3 months to the day that the problem was first reported you would have hoped that TT had actually done something about it.
See my thread on a petition, if you have ever suffered from map refresh lag or voice stutter log a call with TT then log your case number in that thread. It is unacceptable for such poor customer service from an organisation as large as TT and we need to make them sit up and take notice of all us fools who are throwing money at them for products that are not fit for purpose.

New version does not appear to have fixed the rounding issue of 29/49mph (should it have???) in Mapshare corrctions. _________________ TT GO720

There is no point in using Navcore 8,300 or the newer 8,301 version with a v810 map it offers no benefit at all - put Navcore 8,010 back on the device and regain the full FM Tx options and no stutter/ slow screen updates.
When you are considering a map update you will need to update to the latest release, but if you are happy running v810 maps then please consider using Navcore 8,010 its far more reliable - Mike |

And some idiot has corrected the speed on the entire M66 to 59mph and shared it via mapshare.
So I have to correct it back to 70 and now it says 71mph!
Corrections verified by TT?? How many motorways do you know of that are 60mph speed limit for their entire length in both directions permanently?
TT have seriously lost the plot lately. |

TT have seriously lost the plot lately. | The M5 was 60mph from J22 to J30 for several map versions and that was both BEFORE AND AFTER Mapshare Corruptions (sic) became available. _________________ Dennis
