|
|
I am using MM 5.1.3 and have done a few routes on some 25,000 maps on the PC. I can export the map section to the PDA memory card & open the maps on the PDA with no problems, but the routes I produced do not show up. i have tried clicking the show all overlay button on the PDA & also copying the mmo file from the PC to the PDA but without success. The MM version says everything is ok on Help about on the PC. Is there something I am not doing or what, please help. |

Hi John,
Did you use Mobile Device : Export Data to device.. (which is the "normal" way to transfer all Routes, Waypoints and Tracks to the PPC) ? Beware that this will send ALL the Overlay data within MM on your PC and may give the PPC indigestion.
The alternative method is to export a .mmo file (by right-clicking : Save As, on suitable items in the Map or Properties windows) and transfer to the PPC. Then open File Explorer on the PPC and tap on the .mmo file name. This should open MM (if necessary) and import the overlay data.

I am also having problems transfering marks routes and tracks from Memory Map to a Road Angel, when I export to device it shows as incorrect version on the Road Angel, and then deletes all existing marks etc on the device.
I am not too clever on PCs any ideas or suggestions
Memory Map is version 5.27
Thanks Ian |

Ian,
I suspect you need to upgrade the Memory Map software on your Road Angel. Memory Map overlays are not backwards compatible, you need at least 5.2.7 on your RA7000 (that's what I have on mine)
You'll need to get this from Memory Map support as Road Angel themselves only have 5.2.0 for download for some strange reason.
Cheers

Thanks for the info Neil, I have only just purchased it this week, the version on it is 5.2.1 so that is a bit dissapointing, how easy is it to update?
Thanks Ian. |

It's really just a case of copying the new files onto the SD card and overwriting the old files, then reset the RA7000.
5.2.7 contains a rather nice on screen keyboard
The files were made available for free download from the Memory Map website, unfortunately the URL was on the Memory Map forum which has been down for a few months now.
I'd give Memory Map support a ring on Monday.
Cheers
