Concerning the Build voice (New feature in the 0.3.12 release), it would be nice to know which ogg files are needed (Since I understand all files needs to be there).

Also is it possible to have a module to build our own ogg file (Kind of sound recorder and ogg compiler combined) ?

Thanks !

The Quickest way to get a list is to use the Extract voice on, say data05.chk (copy it OFF your TT first). The idea was that you'd extract a voice then take each one in turn and rerecord it. However I've listed them here for reference...

After.ogg, 50.ogg, 80.ogg, 100.ogg, 200.ogg, 300.ogg, 400.ogg, 500.ogg,
600.ogg, 700.ogg, 800.ogg, Meters.ogg, Arrive.ogg, TurnRight.ogg,
2ndLeft.ogg, 2ndRight.ogg, 3rdLeft.ogg, 3rdRight.ogg, AhExit.ogg,
AhExitLeft.ogg, AhExitRight.ogg, AhFerry.ogg, AhKeepLeft.ogg,
AhKeepRight.ogg, AhLefturn.ogg, AhRightTurn.ogg, AhUTurn.ogg,
BearLeft.ogg, BearRight.ogg, Charge.ogg, Depart.ogg,
KeepLeft.ogg, KeepRight.ogg, LnLeft.ogg, LnRight.ogg, MwEnter.ogg, MwExit.ogg, MwExitLeft.ogg, MwExitRight.ogg, RbBack.ogg, RbCross.ogg, RbExit1.ogg, RbExit2.ogg, RbExit3.ogg, RbExit4.ogg, RbExit5.ogg, RbExit6.ogg, RbLeft.ogg, RbRight.ogg, RoadEnd.ogg, SharpLeft.ogg, SharpRight.ogg, Straight.ogg, TakeFerry.ogg, Then.ogg, TryUTurn.ogg, TurnLeft.ogg, UTurn.ogg, Yards.ogg

As you can see, a lot easier to extract an existing one first ...

This is a possibility in the future, but in the meantime take a look at http://www.rarewares.org/ogg.html - OggDrop is great, just unzip it into your foleder and run it, - Right click the fish and set the last option 'Resample to ' to be 22050 ... then you just drag your wav files onto the fish and it encodes them for you... easy huh? :D

Hi,

I have recently bought a TomTom GO 300 and I am also relatively new to your site.

I have just been trying to copy the file '5244_new.data.chk' to the SD card (I have a card reader) as per your instructions which I have been following exactly.

I am running software App 5.200 (5244).

However whenever I try to copy the file onto the card, or save it directly to the card, I get the following error message and it doesn't work:

'Cannot copy 5244_new.data: Data error (cyclic redundany check).'

It still doesn't work if I change the original data.chk filename and try to copy the new file over as just 'data.chk'.

Anybody got any ideas?

Cheers in advance.

CRC usually means a corrupt file. Try downloading it again incase it was corrupted during the download.

Browse this site, the amount of info is unreal. If it doesn't solve any problem you come up against then post, there are guys (and gals no doubt) on here that can do almost anything with TT, PPC, Parm etc. etc.

Blue Skies :D :D :D

Thanks for your swift reply LiveLifeGoJump. I have tried what you suggested however I keep getting the same error time after time.

Could the file for download be corrupted where it is held on the site?

Any more ideas?

Cheers

You may want to check your storage card for errors (and defragment it while you're at it)

I moved the original file from the SD card before adding the new one, and this has worked. I'm very short of spare space on the SD card so I guess this was the reason that it wasn't working.

Thanks guys.

Have just installed this spoken voice file and thanks its excellent. However it would have been good to have been left with one free Bleep or Bell to allocate to other non camera related PIOs.

Any chance?

You can compile your own selections with the tool that's mentioned a few pages back.

JUst curious, there is a section for gatso 70 on the POIs, but no sound for Gatso 70. But there is for all the other speeds, is this intentional for some reason?

The reason is much more trivial. Only 15 slots are available.

If you have space for a couple more POIs then you could compile your own warning sounds with these sounds:
  • Gatso
  • Mobile
  • Redlight
  • Temp
  • 20
  • 30
  • 40
  • 50
  • 60
  • 70

Then put on all the speed cam files. Zoned and unzoned. for the unzoned files set the warning to Gatso mobile temp or redlight. for the zoned files set the distance shorter and set the warnings to the speed of the file.

This way you have warnings for all cams and speeds with some sounds for other warnings too.

Just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Ray Flanagan, who took the time to amend a data.chk file for me to replace the 'red light camera' warning with a POI announcement, then e-mailing it direct to me.

TOP MAN :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Norman

Visit his site if you are having trouble making your own 'data.chk' file as he has a number of files to choose from to cover most (if not all) versions of TTN5
