What I mean is that you did was taking a set of sounds that were all related to Speed Cameras.
But you have another choice which is to populate an Excel sheet with a VB macro into it, that will allow you to assign the sounds you want (The ones you recorder yourseld for example) to the Cow, Polite, Beep 1, Beep 2, etc etc present in your TT go.
That way you could have some sounds related to Speed cameras, some other being the original sounds, etc etc ,... |

Well if the warnings are just for the speed cameras what are we supposed to use for other warnings since the Data Chunk replaces all original sounds. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

Well, as I told you you have 2 choices :
- First is to use the set of sounds (As you did), that are all related to Speed Cameras)
- Second choice is to build your Excel sheet with VB macro that allows you to use your own recored siounds.
With option 1 you only have Speed camera related sounds.
With option 2 you have a set of sounds that you customized (Could contain a mix of Speed cameras, original sounds, Fuel station, etc etc ...).
In my case, I only Replaces "Polite 1" by a sound alerting a speed camera, and let all my other sounds the default. |

Thanks cdelecole for your input but i feel mucking about with individual files may well lead to disaster, I will just have to stick with the original ones for now. I do understand what your saying but do not feel confident enough to tackle what you have suggested _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

Those voices at the link you provided, are you saying that I can replace just the camera warnings without disturbing all the other sound warnings. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

Checkout the readme file. Some but not all of the original sounds are there. You will have some spoken warnings for the camera pois and some of the orginal sounds for your other pois _________________ Ray

Ray,
Could you do your set 4 for the pocket pc version of tt5?
If so then I will forward over the data.chk file.

Mail me your original data.chk and I'll give it a go, but I have no way to test it. _________________ Ray

Not sure....are you using v5 or v3.07?
Maybe I've uploaded the wrong file to my site. I don't have access to ttn to test but do one which was tested by someone on the forum.
Mail your original data.chk to me and I will try again. _________________ Ray

duh!...
found another instnce of data.chk in the Navigator folder, changed it and everything works...
I take it these are .ogg format sound files ?
would it be possible for you to make a new data file with my sounds ?
they can be downloaded here...
www.mumsaway.talktalk.net/pgps_sc_warnings.zip
they're already in .ogg format
thanks _________________ SW
