eTrex Legend Firmware 3.20 Update

Garmin have released a new firmware revision for their eTrex Legend. Improved features include:-

• Corrected problem that potentially rounded northing/easting values when entering or editing waypoints in UTM-based grids.

The latest version can be downloaded from Garmin s Website

Bear in mind that if you have the European version, with the European basemap, you will end up with the American basemap like I just have.



This happens at both Garmin.com and Garmin.co.uk

Really ? That doesn't sound good! There must be a way of changing the basemap back to UK.

Today I removed the map segments I downloaded from Metroguide and discovered that the original European basemap still existed underneath.



I was convinced it had disappeared after upgrading the unit's firmware. Following this upgrade I switched the unit on and there appeared a map of the United States and Canada.

AIUI the basemap is in ROM and cannot be physically overwritten by a firmware update, a pity as many have asked how to change the Americas basemap to the Atlantic one!

will the european masource data work on top of a unit with an american basemap, if so is this the case ofr all garmin products

It will and it is the case for all Garmin products that are map capable.
