No, it's what Garmin deem a 'critical update' so you have to update.

As an aside, whilst doing some housekeeping, it seems that you no longer need the Garmin USB drivers since the MTP devices came out.

Uninstalled mine and all still OK.

And talking of updates, Garmin's released 7.0.1.

Release notes as follows:
- Fixed an issue that prevented users from being able to redeem voucher codes for maps.
- Fixed an issue that prevented users from selecting View Details for a map update if their device was disconnected.

Hopefully they've fixed the ability to view maps AND the updates when the unit's disconnected.

Postnote - Yay - they've fixed it (but shouldn't have broken it in the first place)
