I've updated my Mac OS to Catalina, which means my Garmin POI Loader had to be updated, which means I now have to browse for the destination of the PGPSW POIs. Does anyone know the name of the file I am looking for so I can insert it in POI Loader?

Not with you, Kremmen?
Having run tests, it looks like the PGPSW POIs land up in a folder in the Zumo called Poi, in a file called poi.gpi
Does this sound right?
Then the question is, how do I know if the POIs are being accessed properly by the satnav?

Oh, I thought your question is which to download.

POILoader will place the resultant. GPI file in the correct place for your device, which is usually the POI folder.

The POI name will be the name that POILoader shows in the name panel and the name is unimportant.

If you already have numerous mysterious POI's in that folder then run the POILoader option to remove all existing ones first then load the new one.

Do a where to, categories, custom POIs and you'll see what is loaded.

Tx to Kremmen and Sussamb.

On the Zumo 660, it appears that POI Loader puts the PGPSW data in a file called pgpsw-speed-cams-ZbV4-(18-011).gpi in an existing folder called Poi.
On the Zumo, I found what looks like relevant data by going: Where To -- Extras -- Custom POIs.

I used POI Loader to remove existing POIs from the Zumo before uploading the new batch as Kremmen suggested.

Question: does the weekly batch of data we get reload every POI in the PGPSW database, or does it only include changes to what's already there - in other words, by deleting my old POIs, have I destroyed my own database?

Yes, the weekly download of speed cameras is the full database of all cameras.

That filename is going to cause issues.

By default POIloader creates its filename based on the Windows folder name. My Windows folder name is "PGPSW" and I always extract into that, so my Garmin file is always "PGPSW.GPI" This means that every week POILoader prompts me to overwrite the existing device GPI file.

With that filename, which is linked to a single download, will not get overwritten and you will end up with multiple camera files unless you remember to delete the existing file.

What I think you've done is allow Windows to use its suggested folder name when you extracted the zip.

Be careful

Tx Kremmen, I'll see what happens next time and adjust as necessary. As it happens, I have a Mac.

If I use POI Loader to delete previous POIs, does this also delete any other POIs I may have that are not generated by PGPSW?

If you delete existing first then you'll be OK.

Exactly what the delete option removes I don't know. I manually removed all the Cyclops ones before running mine.

I think I'll do the same thing. BTW, how does Cyclops compare with PGPSW?

Cyclops is considered by us not as up to date as here, plus, all you get from Cyclops is a small blue dot and just a beep.

Both of which don't grab your attention like the PGPSW alerts with proper individual speed icons and a spoken alert.

All Cyclops has in its favour is that it's directional.
