Android 10 earlier followed swiftly by an uninstall of CA. At least I will no longer be bugged by the "Take care you are...." message when I accidentally tap it.

I don't even get that far, it just closes immediately with a message that it keeps stopping.

I got an Android update today. Just out of curiosity I tried to start CamAlert again and got a pop up saying "CamAlert has been updated". Ooh I thought, fingers crossed. Unfortunately it was a false hope as it crashed immediately after that Sad

Certainly does not work on SGS 10+ running Android Version 10. Surprised that it is taking so long to come up with an update to the App.

I emailed two of the management at the company:

Dear Robert/Mike. Have used Camera Alert for years and recommended it to many and also got free subs due to my proactive submissions. All good! But it doesn't work on my new Samsung Galaxy S10 and may others with iPhones etc bemoan the fact that its not working on recent devices. Is there any likelihood that the app will be updated at all? I miss it!

No response.

Im going to negatively review the app on Google Play now, which is a shame but no point buying something that doesn't work and is abandonware but that they still sell.

I sent this reply earlier today after discussions with Mike...

“Apologies for the delayed response. I just wanted to check what stage we were at.

We are aware of the issues with Samsung's version of Android 10 and CamerAlert, and it is still being investigated.

While not ideal, I would recommend the app 'Speedtrap Alert' which is available for free in the Google Play Store and is compatible with our database (there is a specific download available on the website that can be either copied to the phone and installed into the app or downloaded on the phone itself to be installed into the app).

This will at least mean you can continue to make use of your subscription (although any reports/updates to new cameras would need to be submitted on the website).

You can also use the database on a SatNav such as Garmin if that is available to you.

Mike is presently attempting to rectify the problem, but it is a much bigger job than anticipated. Again, apologies.”

Finally. Some sort of a response to the problem, thank you. It is good to know that it may not be dead in the water, but anything that is needed to be done to make the app compatible, will hopefully be sooner rather than later.

Thanks for getting back to me/us Rob - you have to manage these fans expectations. Its just a superb app and we miss it. Glad to know that there is a will to fix :-) I'll be delighted to change my miserable review once you feed us the new Android 10 compatible one :-) Thanks

I’m just sorry for the delay, I was waiting to see if I could have something a bit more definitive to tell you.
