Hi I am having problems with my Garmin Drive Smart 61 LMT-D. I want to remove pocketgpsworld camera alert. I have tried using POI Loader which tells me that I have successfully removed all POI. Indeed it does remove all POis except pocketgpsworld. If i go back into Custom POis all the camera alerts are still there. It would not be so bad but they do not work at all. No alert no icon even with red light. I have even tried a factory reset but they are still there. I just want to remove them and then reinstall so hopefully they will then work. Has anyone got a suggestion on how to solve this problem? |

Just delete the .gpi file in the POI folder on the device. If it's not there search for *.gpi and you'll find it. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Strange that POIloader 'remove' hasn't actually removed all the .GPI files. _________________ Satnav:

Generally if for some reason the .gpi file isn't in the POI folder _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I did consider that but would the cameras still be found and display warnings if the GPI was somewhere else ? _________________ Satnav:

If they're not working though probably best to start again as you can't edit a .gpi file _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I agree, but if OP generates a new one with the same name, it will overwrite the ones that are not working. |

Yep, remove the .GPI database manually, via a PC connection, then follow the spoon feed version to get them back properly.
If the GPI isn't in the correct POI folder then how did it get wherever it is ? _________________ Satnav:

Who knows
I create mine on my PC then send them manually to my devices, maybe the OP did the same _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thanks for your comments. As I said I did a factory reset and the pocketgpsworld were still showing in Custom POI. I looked in the internal storage via my PC and opened POI. The ars 9 GPI Cyclops Sample files relating to various European countries and 2 DNl files and 2 GMA files. No GPI files! I am convinced that it is these files that are stopping PocketGPSWorld working so any other ideas on how to delete them would be very welcome. |

A factory reset won't delete .gpi files but I'm now confused.
The Cyclops files won't stop the PGPSW files from working, but they can easily be deleted, just delete them using Windows Explorer. They should though have been removed via poi loader.
I suspect it's those cameras you were seeing if, as you say, there are no other .gpi files anywhere else on your device or any installed card. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

If I go into Custom POI under the heading "All Categories" on the devise I see Pocketgps_uk_gatso_20
Pocketgps_uk_gatso_30
and so on until
Pocketgps_uk_specs_var
The complete list
There are the only POIs visible. |
