Having just changed my phone I wanted to make sure the new phone was going to issue the CA alerts over the cars speaker system via the headunit.

Having Bluetooth paired the phone I started CA, went into settings. Changed it to 'Bluetooth Headset' and then changed the output from 'Male Voice' to 'Female Voice'.

When you do that CA fires off a verbal sample through the car system so you can adjust the volume to suit.

= no need to go out and drive past a camera to test and adjust.

Proper Job ! (from the garage)

Same result if you change the advance warning.

The real question is whether you get the same problems as I do - crashes when you try to input a voice note, disables audio after you get a phone call and a warning together, blackscreen when warning at night (there's a simple solution to this last one - turn off night view and blind yourself).

I've never encountered those because they've never cropped up.

No one ever phones me on the mobile (except those single ring 0843/0845 scammers)
Never go out at night, but, I run with no maps so it's only displaying cameras in range on a black background anyway
Never use the phone for verification

Those are iOS issues. Kremmen, I believe, is sensible and uses Android.

So long as he hasn't got a Huawei phone?

Is the fact that I use iOS the reason why CamerAlert is not being updated? Do Android phones get CamerAlert updates?

I've got a Sammy phone, just upgraded from a HTC. It's quite thin considering it's got Pie inside.

I find it hard to understand why our beloved Gov are in favour of allowing this HooHar mob a hand in our communications, especially if some are sensitive.

Factoid: Huwaei have an office complex on Green Park in Reading. According to a friend who worked in the block next door all employees in there are Chinese. Not a single IC1 seen entering or leaving the building in the 7 years he worked next door - suspicious they only employ their own in the UK !
