Yep, that worked.
No maps though because I don't have any on the PC presuambly. I need to download a map set again and opt to send them to the PC as well.
One small step at a time ..... _________________ Satnav:

Yes, install the maps on the PC. And then afterwards you'll need to remember to delete the huge folder in C \ Program Data \ Core Service.
And then, for MapSource or BaseCamp users who have only a small C drive [and I can't find a way for Garmin to install to any other drive] you'll probably want to move the gmap folder (in C \ Program Data \ Garmin \ Maps) to a larger drive using JaVaWa GMTK (freeware). (It leaves a shortcut behind for MapSource / BC to follow).

I've always moved the map files manually. What's the advantage of JavaWa. _________________ Satnav:

The files need to be moved in a way that MapSource or BaseCamp can use them.
Using JaVaWa means that amateurs like me don't have to think about anything beyond the start and destination locations.
Especially so, in the case of map files in img format, where most files can be moved, but some small core files are left behind. Tricky to remember what's what !!
