Do you need these if you have the latest maps? |

Yes, unless TTHome or MyDrive has already grabbed them for you
These should be downloaded/unzipped and copied to a folder in your root called "zip" |

How do you go into the root of a non-TTHome device? |

You can't, simple as! Basically the ONLY way to access this is via their slow & unreliable MyDrive |

What surprises me is that some computer whizz kid hasn't cracked a way into the recent TTs. Or have they? |

No, I think they've given up trying after 8 years! |

Or have they? | I have a Windoze exe which reads the proprietary SD card for Renault R-Link TomTom. That allows me to get to all the folders and files and I can put the speedcam data into the map folder, complete with icons and OGG files, so it will warn when near. The author is French and I DO wonder if he could do the business, but I don’t know how to contact him and ask.
I don’t do it often (I.e. weekly) simply because my only Win machine is a zillion year old laptop with Win 7 Home Premium, which takes all night to do the job (even longer than downloads to the newer GO6200) and I don’t keep it on charge so that adds to the timescale. _________________ Dennis
