|
|
Hi
I was considering buying a tomtom go or navman pin pc ,but have been told by a freind that because my new mondeo has a quick clear screen. (similar to the back window demister of a car, i don't know the technical term) I will have problems getting these units to lock on to a gps.
Is this true?
Does anybody out there who has a new mondeo have or herd of this problem?
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks |

It should be okay providing it isn't an athermic/UV coated windscreen which will dampen GPS signals. Some heated windscreens can cause some interference because you have a low electrical current surging through the coils in the screen, so you may see lower signals when the windscreen heater is on, but no where near as bad as a UV coated screen. |

Hi, I have a BC-307 CF receiver and can confirm that it works just fine through the heated front screen of my Mondeo. Had t to 9 sats regularly just yesterday.
Don't know about when the screen is turned on but this only amount to a few minutes a year anyway.

I've got a 2003 Mondeo, and my Tomtom 3 bluetooth GPS unit works fine with the windscreen heater on or off... |
