I have now decided the traffic on my Garmin Nuvi 2569LMT-D WE is total pants
I was in Belgium on Friday, stuck for 40 minutes around Antwerp with my system telling me there were no delays. After said 40 minutes, I was advised there were delays of up to 25 minutes!!! No sh*t Sherlock On the Sunday in Holland, there were road closures for roadworks (not temporary), again not picked up by the unit causing total confusion. On the way back, after being told there was a clear route, held up at Antwerp again. Today travelling to Bacup was given a clear route, even though stuck in the traffic. Notification finally came on, but there were other incidents today it also didn't pick up and I had to use Waze instead.
This is a regular problem for me, but I have put up with it. It is coming to the time I think about buying another unit again and Garmin are the only ones who will offer me my POI support (with images), but I don't want to waste money on a unit with traffic as unreliable as it currently is.
I am wondering what other peoples' experiences are of the Inrix via a cable on their systems? _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

I can't speak for European coverage but the digital traffic on Garmin is a step up from their previous traffic coverage - which was very patchy.
It's not the most accurate traffic system in terms of update frequency but is usually accurate enough for most routing purposes and has alerted me many times. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

I had to stop using my 2699 this week as the traffic kept telling me the A4189 was closed for over a week, but the road was not closed at all between Redditch and Warwick. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

It doesn't matter which manufacturer you go for, its the traffic provider who counts. Garmin use Inrix and TomTom have their own. They both have iffy coverage at times and show roadworks that aren't there.
The app based ones for phones etc use either Inrix or TomTom as far as I can tell. |

The symptoms you describe are what I got with Smartlink but Inrix via the cable has been fine. Smartlink, when I last used it, was viaMichelin and they are hopeless at removing obsolete roadworks.
One thing to check if you are using the cable is that you have 'reception'. With iffy reception the updates are patchy and can be very late.
In the traffic menu see how many bars, out of 5 it's showing. Then reposition the cable if necessary. _________________ Satnav:

Whilst travelling today (and not being told of the hold up on M1 South of Watford Gap services), I took a look at the reception bars and it was showing full. However, the Traffic provider was showing as "searching". Coverage seems to have deteriorated recently after having improved a bit over recent months.
I have the cable on display (the same way I used to position my TomTom traffic cable), but wonder if some of my problem could be the heated windscreen in my Fiesta van?

I've had heated screens in my cars for many years and never had an issue. Doesn't mean to say yours isn't the issue though. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Yes I do, I have seen the bars in various positions over the months. It would be nice to have them on the navigation screen so you can see at a glance if it is connected (a bit like the green circle on Tomtom units).

You can set a EPE circle to be shown around your car's icon on the navigation screen in the developer menu. To access that bring up the trip data screen by tapping the speed icon then press and hold the speedo part for around 10 seconds. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

That's a clever little screen isn't it? I have enabled it now, thanks. Let's see how it works on my trip to Bristol on Tuesday. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

I'm hoping the circle shows when the traffic is being received _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

Not sure it'll do that but it does show how strong the received GPS signal is. Larger the circle less accurate the fix. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.

Ah, ok. I don't have a problem with the gps signal usually, but traffic? That is something different entirely
I'm working tomorrow now, so should be able to see what occurs. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |
