I'm running:
iPhone 6s Plus
iOS 10.3.3

I normally use CamerAlert in the background but last night I used it in the foreground and also noticed the blinking speed.
The good news is that the speed indicator only blinks when the speed changes (increase or decrease). So as long as you drive at a very constant speed you don't have to worry about a blinking speed display.
Ok, it's a little annoying but you can run CamerAlert in the background. The core functionality is good. I'm sure that the authors are looking into the blinking speed display.

Thank you so far, the major issues are gone: CA works (iOS 11/CA 2.0.4), also in background, passes warnings also via bluetooth to car's audio. I can now confirm my participation to donation group.
In my phone CA does not exist anymore in the settings/notification apps list, but I didn't find those banners valuable above e.g. google maps. |

Installed the new update this morning and it asked for permission for notifications and now shows up in there. |

So what is your question? Or are you just stating the fact? |

Thanks Adski, I reinstalled CA and you are correct, now it asks both permission to location and notifications (I am (almost) sure that it didn't ask notification question last time |

Thank you for the version 2.0.6, now notifications are jumping up nicely when CA is on the background (only short test when facing one camera and travelling with bus). |

All working fine apart from two minor issues for the developers.
Blinking GPS speed and the occasional bright screen flickering when in auto mode at night time. These aren't really an issue as 80% of the time CA is running in the background. |

As a very uninquisitive soul, I have only just noticed there is an option to suppress notification of the update alert. How long has it been there and does it stop the nice lady greeting me with the announcement that I'm out of date and need to update? _________________ Dennis

You may have to wait until next Wednesday evening to find this out Dennis! |

I fear not - as a lonely, uninquisitive soul, I find great solace in having a nice lady speak to me each Wednesday, so I shall not be ticking that option! _________________ Dennis

And when Night mode is on the text for this option disappears. |

I have noticed that when my sound setting is for Bluetooth output, my phone is silent in a non-Bluetooth equipped car. With Waze the sound defaults to phone speaker when Bluetooth is not available.
This has caught me out a few times as I often driving different cars.
Could CamerAlert be adjusted to default to phone speaker when no other output device is detected.
No other amendments havd occurred to md for some years, so keep up ghd good work.
As z matter of curiosity, is the downloadable database on say Monday in any wsy different to the one announced to previous Wednesday?
Thanks |

Thanks | Any time you download you get the latest data. That’s more up to date than “yesterday” and tomorrow’s will be more up to date than today’s. The Administrator is updating dynamically daily and as he works from home he even does it at weekends occasionally. For the iPhone, updates are whenever you tap the update thingy - when I’m driving, I even update mid journey, so daily or even more than once in a day. The Wednesday announcement is for standalone satnavs which need a complete update process. _________________ Dennis
