Thanks for your last contribution. I've had a hell of a long day in work and done close to a 15 hour shift - hence delay in my reply. Now that I know that I didn't need to create a folder containing poi and sox, I have tonight followed what I think is the correct method.
poi loader is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin and I have downloaded and extracted sox there too. The files that are contained there are:
Base Camp
Device Interaction service
Express
Express Elevated Installer
Express SelfUpdater
Express Tray
Mapinstall
POI Loader
USB_Drivers
Webupdater
sox.
I've downloaded the PGPSW camera database inc verifiers and put them in separate folders in My Documents. Should they be in one folder or does it not really matter? |

That's great. At last we have some common ground now
Why don't you just try the ordinary speedcams first to make sure that they load and work OK before you start complicating things with verifier's files?
The files that you want POI Loader to process must all be in the same folder as You can only 'point' it at one folder. I'm not certain whether it will also get POIs from sub folders though.
Start off with the KISS techniques, and just unzip the ordinary PGPWS cams into your 'working' folder and point POI Loader at that.
Make another folder for the POI Loader's output file so that you will know where that is. |

I can already see one issue, you appear to have sox.exe in the Garmin folder, it needs to be in the POI Loader folder. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

If you go back to my tutorial images you should be able to see the same with POILoader.exe, all the various POIloader.dll's and right down the bottom, in alphabetical order, sox.exe.
The camera data folder needs to be somewhere else, totally accessible, with no csv's in any sub folder because they will get sucked in and possibly cause duplication if they are also cameras.
The sub folder ploy is for other POI's but thats another story. _________________ Satnav:

I asked you if sox.exe was in the POI LOader folder which also contains a bunch of .DLL files and there are no DLLs your the listing.
Questions:
1. Have you set explorer to display extensions yet. Y/N
2. Does the contents of your c:\program files\garmin\poi loader POI Loaded FOLDER look exactly like THIS on the first post. |

Hi all
have tried out the g/1490 & all seems to be well , speed is showing correct & camera warning's seem fine ,,,,,,, but although I have selected custom POI's ,,,, I am still getting the Garmin warning grey & red block's appearing BUT with strange speed warnings , like 31 mph in 50 mph limit ,,,but hopefully this will sort it self out .......

No, it won't 'sort itself out'.
When you say speed limit, are you referring to the actual road speed limit, or the camera trap speed.
If the latter then it's probably because you didn't select MPH in POI LOader.
If you have missing camera voice alerts it is possibly because you don't have sox.exe in the POI Loader install folder along with POILoader.exe.
PS. What's with all the commas and full stops? Got some sticky keys?

@SILVERFOXE
Almost certainly, since 50 kph is 31 mph _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Hi al. I have been out all day and can now report a positive result.
Sussamb, you are correct, sox and I changed the sox location into the POI Loader folder.
M8TJT Great input, thanks. Yes, I have set the extensions and my POI loader looks very similar but I have to give allowance because it's Windows 10 so may appear a little different.
The cams all uploaded AND male voice with no prefix can now be heard. Do you suggest putting the verifier files into the same folder? |

Good resuly at last topref I'll let kremmen answer the one about verifier's cams, I suspect that you could put them in a sub folder of your working folder, but I'm not sure so wait for k to answer. |

Interesting one about the verifier cams.
Something I need to look at. Any suggestions?
We (l) need a different verbal warning to alert us that there is something to look out for that's not necessarily in the standard database. _________________ Satnav:

An out of the ordinary audible warning which would make us want to look at the screen?
If I were to install the verifier files 'on top of' the standard cam files from a different folder, would that cause a problem? Or maybe I need to ask this in the verifier forum? |

You have the attention of the experts in this thread. topref wrote: | An out of the ordinary audible warning which would make us want to look at the screen? | Yes, something different that grabs the attention I think he means. |

New verbal warnings are easy.
Just record them, trim them down in Audacity, amplify as desired, and output in .wav, mono, 44,100 Hz Signed 16 bit PCM, and graft a bongbong on the front if desired.
Name the .wav to match the filename of what I assume are your verifiers' csv's.
