I need an sd card for map storage. which ones should i avoid and which ones are most reliable

it used to be that you should avoid scantec ones. but i dont know if that is still the case. some companies buy off scantec and rebadge so until you try it and analyse the card with the pda you wont know.

I bought a jessops own brand 512MB, and right from the bat it was unreliable, and I lost my maps and lots more very soon afterwards.

I checked the card and found out it'd been used by Jessops staff in a digital camera, which might be why it didn't format first time I used it, and caused the problems.

I've since formatted it using flash format, and its OK so far.

Are jessops brand reliable?
