I know this isn't quite right, having in-car with PNDs, but thinlk you'll understand me putting up for comparison with PNDFs. I just got a copy of the new brochure for my new van - I ordered it in February, delivery is so late I think I'll be getting it for 1st September! The brochure has arrived as a PDF attachment from the dealer and shows the satnav... Looks a complete pig's ear. The second picture below shows it centre of the dashboard. Can you believe "touch screen"????? Left-handed, at that distance??? Bluetooth connection?? To iPhone 5 ????? Oh boy, I can't wait

Good for us 'sinister' folk.
So have Ranault severed their relationship with TomTom? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

No - the clue is at the bottom right hand corner of the first picture. _________________ Dennis

Actually, because I only got the PDF yesterday, I had hardly looked into it. This morning when I Google Renault R-Link I find that it's a complete Android in-car system which just happens to have a TomTom satnav as part of it. It does all sorts of stuff including videos, Sudoku and I don't know what-all. It alleges not only touch screen, but also steering wheel controls and voice recognition.
The second picture above is in the brochure, but is an old one and nothing to do with the new system!
It also is the reason why all Renaults with it are delayed 8 months or more! _________________ Dennis

I'm slightly looking forward to the challenge. Out on the road now - if you're home could you shift this to built in for me please? _________________ Dennis

That's android for you!
Haven't used Nav4 yet, but I thought it looked great on the videos (TomToms and user videos)

Here is my new tt well old really, as its been in there for about 3 years - just use for camera alerts. Shut the glasses holder and its hidden. TT wiring connected behind unit to live only wiring circuit when car is running for charging. Normal mini usb into tt and tt held in place with velcro.
