I wish to create routes on my PC and then download to PDA.
I already have lists of waypoints for each route.
The only way I can see to do it on MM2004 is to spend ages using the mouse to create the waypoints and route, it must be much simpler to edit/enter the data using keyboard, in a file somewhere.
When I go to Props/route properties I thought that was where I could enter my data, but seem unable to do it.
Am I missing something obvious Question

When you say that you have lists of waypoints for your routes are these external to Memory-Map and what format are they in?

I have written a program that will convert waypoint lists to routes but I would need more detail from you first.

Yes these waypoints are for example on the internet, example is at http://www.walkweb.org.uk/route_w2_information.htm
They are in a list form and it would be great to just type them into a file that can be then added as a route on MM

Yes you can use my program POIConverter to create a MMN route from waypoints in that format. The program is in the Downloads area under POI Icons and Converters | PC. Make sure that you download version 3.

If you create a text file (extension ASC) with records in the following format (ie for the Castle Combe example)

ST 8458 7771,START
ST 8445 7754,WP1
ST 8404 7731,WP2
ST 8378 7760,WP3
ST 8336 7754,WP4
ST 8296 7732,WP5
ST 8334 7665,WP6
ST 8396 7611,WP7
ST 8408 7557,WP8
ST 8419 7538,WP9
ST 8424 7485,WP10
ST 8462 7485,WP11
ST 8509 7466,WP12
ST 8407 7684,WP13
ST 8445 7754,WP1
ST 8458 7771,START

Run my program and read these in as Points (Use Open and TomTom Text file format). Then select the Route button and save the data to a Maptech Route file (extension RXF). You can then import the route from the RXF file into MMN.

The route will follow the order of the waypoints in the file.

You can cut and paste the waypoints and edit them if you have a block mode editor. I use TextPad which is very good.

Arne,

I'm pleased to hear that you got it to work Thumbs Up As I was born in Bristol I know Castle Combe, well as it was many years ago. So it was interesting to use it as an example.

Also I have added the walks site to my Favourites.
