There used to be an option to "Dim Cameras" which seems to have been replaced by "Hide Cameras", unfortunately the latter isn’t very useful when attempting to use the new Mob tick/cross request.

If I view ALL cameras there can be so many on screen while driving round Liverpool that I can’t figure out which one needs ticking, certainly not with a quick glance at the screen anyway.

Hide Cameras Behind Me made is much clearer but cameras disappear from view before I’m certain that there isn’t a mobile camera there.

I’m sure the “Dim Cameras Behind Me” would be much more helpful, the cameras would remain on screen but at least it would be obvious which are in front & which behind, particularly if the tick/cross stays on for a while.

I’ve also noticed that sometimes mobile cameras swap positions in the onscreen list, I’m afraid I can’t elaborate as I only noticed it happening a couple of days ago, is this a known phenomenon?

yes, this is an area where we are still searching for a better solution. Most likely it will be along the lines of keeping the "Hide cameras behind me" function but with the exception of mobile cameras that are still in the "button" range.

You will still need some way to easily distinguish what is in front & what is behind with a quick glance, I know the arrows indicate this but it's difficult while looking at a long list - maybe you could highlight the closest camera somehow

Does it help that the closest camera is at the top and that the buttons are still showing?

If that's a suggestion then yes it would, good idea.

If on the other hand you're saying that's the way it actually is at the moment then I feel remarkably stupid Embarassed because I'm sure my list runs from farthest away in front at the top to furthest behind at the bottom with the closest cameras bobbing around somewhere in the middle?? Am I really going senile? Shocked

Let's say it like this. The current functionality sorts the list by threat level, which is a combination of distance to camera and your movement vector to the camera. In most cases this is equivalent to just the distance to the camera.

But taking your suggestion into consideration we could change the logic such that the mobile camera you just passed could stay at the top of the list until it is no longer the closest camera, even though its threat level is now nil.

So I guess this rules out the senility.

That's a relief Very Happy

Good idea & being at the top makes it easiest to select - the sort based on threat level (distance / vector) also explains why cameras sometimes seem to change position in the lsit regardless of distance.
