Nuvi 200w not booting up

Hi all. My father in law has a Garmin nuvi 200w and not used it for a while. When you turn it on it has a picture of a PC and a cable which i gether means it has to be connected to PC. I done this and went to garmin online to MY Dashboard and updated it. It still does not boot up. Any ideas how to get the files i need to install them manually or any other ideas guys.

The picture you describe should only happen when you connect it to a pc. If it appears when you switch it on something is wrong. Try a hard reset to see if that cures it.

To do a hard reset press and hold bottom right of screen while switching on your nuvi. Then select to clear all user data when option appears. Note this will erase all favourites so back them up first.
