DNX7210BT - BONG! volume issue

The DNX7210BT is a Kenwood head unit that has Garmin sat nav, so not entirely sure if this is the right forum, but hopefully you can let me know.

The issue I have at the moment is all the GPS sounds are way too loud. I use Poi loader without a sample at the moment so it uses the default "Bong" sound.

So what I'm thinking is creating a quiet bong sample. Has anyone done this? Does Poi loader allow you to include the samples? I don't want to run back an forth between car and computer trying different options if someone already knows.

Also, has anyone seen a volume setting for the GPS stuff? It seems to feed off the main volume, but for some reason in the last couple of weeks it has gone really loud. I have played around with some of the audio settings, but nothing clearly labelled "gps sounds volume". I'm talking about settings related to sound balance and the like.

According to THIS TOPIC, you can add the PGPSW voice warnings when you install the camera database to the Kenwood models, so YES, you can add your own sound FX files for POI warnings too.

They need to be in .wav format according to those instructions.
