And just to add amusement to those who already appreciate the changes for the Olympics:
The HD Traffic system will be based on stats of moving vehicles. Obviously if a phone is travelling at 300 mph it will be ignored, but if 10% of traffic is doing 60mph, and 90% is doing 20mph, then it will probably assume that there is a fair flow and not diagnose a problem.
Ah, but the HD Traffic is looking for Vodaphone SIMS.
Judging by the reports that you are likely to be brought down by a surface-to-air missile if you are seen drinking Pepsi within 10 miles of an Olympic site, then I doubt there will be many fast-moving SIMS in the "Zill-lanes" that aren't from O2!

A deal struck between the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG), BT and O2 currently means that some 40,000 executives and guests in its corporate entertainment areas will only be able to use mobiles with an O2 contract – forcing them to adopt a new mobile number, or face a communications blackout.

Forget HD Traffic. It's simple - DO NOT travel eastbound M4 junction 3. There are TWO traffic nightmares all rolled into one.
First, ban on over 7.5Tonne - vehicles required to exit/divert at Junction 3.
Second, approaching the olympic lane, which starts about a mile after J3, so everybody is panicking.
The result for me this morning was a journey expected to last just two hours took nearer three - two inside lanes jammed with lorries turning off THEN turning across both lanes because the diversion is right turn at J3.
When I returned and joined J3 from the south (which was virtually clear), there was a very large sign warning of olympic congestion, advising you not to drive into London until 14th August!!! _________________ Dennis

Didn't have a problem coming in on Tuesday morning (9am). The M25 from the M40 was crawling, but once I got off that I didn't drop below 60mph until the 60mph limit after J4, and then got off with no problem at J3 to continue on to Brentford.
