Hello: anyone got any reasonable suggestions why my normally reliable and regularly updated machine has suddenly gone haywire.

It started normally enough today at home but it all of a sudden it lost its way and my position suddenly ended up in the middle of the local lake.

It did find itself after hard booting a couple of times, ran for a few miles then flipped again. It said there were eight satellites.

Version running is 9.430.89026.1, with map v 890.4222. The machine also has the US map on a card and I did switch back and forth while planning a trip but I did read about possibly losing the .cfg file, but mine is dated today as I ran the latest TomTom update.

I suppose I could run the backup!!

Cheers

Mike

Sounds like you have also been caught up with the problems others have had this week. There's an ongoing discussion here.

Further to my post, it seems that new cfg file I downloaded last night fixed the issue. I drove for about 10 miles last evening and the device behaved itself. It would seem that logging on to TomTom Home and doing an update resets the .cfg file back to 5K judging by the new file date.
Will check again today.

Thanks
