Hi WWG,
No worries - I have just received my carry-case too.
I've yet to install the latest software version into my box of tricks - which has not been performing too well on the A272. False instructions, and dropping signals (despite the re-rad). My rating for the machine has therefore levelled out and I'm not that well pleased. Might have been a bad day for it or something, but it's far from switch on a go.
Nothing is better than the human, but machines are meant to help, not get you peed off with them.
Cheers

Mine does the same as yours so between us we have found out two unlikely outcomes. |
Sorry about that, my mistake.
sifi wrote: | Maybe your obsevation is due to it using the "current location" as shown at the bottom of the TT screen i.e. your address at Blackpool. This could be because when you tap "done" to enter the options screen of alternative route the screen goes to your last gps signal position map which is most probably your home address, and then uses that as the new starting point. |
It does, do you or anyone know how to get around this?
All I want to do is plan a route from A to B, see what route is planned by TT Go and then set an alternative route but all it does is plan the route using my current location. |

I e-mailed TT when you discovered the problem and have not had a reply as yet. Maybe there is not a way around this. I tried changing my home address to a proposed starting point but it does the same. I'll erport their reply when it comes. |

Nice one, thanks for that.
It's probably a glitch. |

After some research I have downloaded and installed the speed camera locations. It is quite simple and appears to be accurate and up to date.
I too have recieved my little bag today.
The warning sounds are a bit lame. |

Hello wezZ99,
I am not one to let others do the donkey work, but would you care to offer your expertise as to where/how you managed to download these speed camera locations and insert them into the TTG machine?
The simpler the explanation the more the appreciation for your efforts wez99.
Hope you don't mind me asking.
Cheers
TG
PS: I'm in a bit of a pickle right now - I cannot find my USB lead to even start transferring version 4.4 so I've time to assimilate your speed camera information - should you be kind enough to tell. |

Thanks Mr RubberGloves,
Before I download/insert the wrong thing for TTG, which of these is the correct one for TTG please ?
TomTom
Navigator 1
CheckPOInt - [Instructions]
GPS Assist (Pocket PC 2002 Only) - [Instructions]
POI-Warner - [Instructions]
Navigator 2
CheckPOInt - [Instructions]
GPS Assist (Pocket PC 2002 Only) - [Instructions]
POI-Warner - [Instructions]
Current Database Version: v2.091
Database Last Updated: 01st September 2004
Download the current database here
--------------------
Once you have downloaded the correct data base for these speed... err Safety Cameras......... is it simple enough to tranfer/input the data to TTG?
The instructions look a bit deep and testing....... Please note that his means you will have to disable the old POI in TomTom Navigator 1 / 2 / 3 and your POI Notification software and re-add the new ones. Or is that info N/A for TTG?
Sorry to be a bit slow on this.............. I'm getting old!!
Cheers

To be quite honest I did not get any email from TomTom (I registered the day I bought TTG) I find PocketGPS forums much more helpful; which is also where I got the news of the 4.40 upgrade last night.

Same here, and the forums are brill...

I have an Arkon Screen Protector on my TTG (It is very good at reducing reflection and screen smudge protection) but I mentioned before that it does dulls the screen slightly.

I used the original screen protector that came on the ttg, took it off, trimmed it down to fit... will protect the screen for a while... _________________ Regards Steve :-) |
