My XL LIVE Europe is now one year old so requires a new subscription to live services. I have noticed that since my subscription has lapsed that my camera alerts are no longer available. I have e-mailed TT a numerous amount of times but they have not answered this question about the camera alerts being linked to the live services saying that only the updates are linked to this. I would have thought that the alerts would still be showing even though the live services has lapsed, so do I have to purchase live services to get my camera alerts back??.
Do PGPS support the XL Live IQ routes Europe edition.

Many thanks.

Trevor
PS sorry if this has been covered before but the database is so large now

Yes your model *is* compatible with the PGPSW database, I'm trying to get the list updated to make it clearer.

Must admit I'm surprised by your finding that the cameras are no longer available after your subscription runs out- I've not heard of that before.
It seems especially strange considering that if you buy a normal model without a LIVE subscription you get a "one-time" camera update that lasts for ever.

I actually have a unit where the LIVE services run out in a couple of days from now. I'll delay updating, to see if *my* camera alerts still work once the subs have expired.

TT - because they stopped after his LIVE Services expired.
And in the last line he asks if he can use PGPSW instead.

TT have replied and it is like pulling teeth they have given me a procedure to to copy the safety camera files to my computer save and then remove them from my device go into TT home click on POI and select all safety cameras remove device reset and install TT home delete a folder from my computer etc etc. Then they say if it does not work because of no back up (my fault agreed if I have not) I will have to purchase live services and camera update to pre-install.
Well I will try this and let you know I might as well buy a new or refurb one as the cost will be approx £83 for live and camera update so will be looking to PGPS now I know I can update however my model is not in the list so which way to go to re-install using PGPS.

Hi Trevor...

First, one small thing - the PGPSW database compatibility table has now been updated to (hopefully) make it clearer that your model is included (it already listed the XL and XXL, but didn't specifically mention their LIVE cousins).

Secondly, I've arranged to let the Live Services on my XL LIVE run out for three days at the end of this week to check the same thing doesn't happen to me.
I suspect that your problems were coincidental to the subscription expiring, but this way we can check for sure.

Thirdly, I hope that customer services didn't list the steps that they wanted you to try QUITE like that!
It sounds like they wanted you to backup your existing camera files with Windows Explorer, then remove them via Home and then put them back on again with Explorer.

But £20 for the PGPSW camera database is a better bet then just relying on an outdated TomTom one.
I tend to think an out-of-date set of warnings is worse than none at all!

Andy.

Many thanks for that PGPS sounds the best way to go, out of a matter of interest are you going to renew your subscription to live services and if so will it work independantly of the safety cameras from PGPS with no confliction.

Yes, you can run them both side by side with no conflicts whatsoever.

You can run them both togewther on the new NAV3 models too, but the only thing to note on those is that the new TT camera reporting tool (blue square on the left of the screen) stops the POI warning icons in the top left from appearing.

I usually leave the TT-supplied alerts switched off but sometimes turn them back on again just to remind myself how much better the PGPSW ones are!

But I like the LIVE services for the Google Search which I find very useful.
