I noticed somewhere on these forums that some users had been having trouble selecting all the new OV2 files simultaneously. I have not had this problem until this evening, but when I tried to update my TomTom Start with the new files today, I couldn't select more than one file at a time, so it took quite a long and tedious time to update my device. Any idea how to resolve this? I tried using both Firefox 10.0.3 and IE9 but both had the same problem. |

You could try the semi-secret 'single zip file upload' method? Select 'TomTom (myTomTom Zip)' as the format and then all you need to do is simply upload the zip file itself - no need to unzip on the computer first.
We will (eventually) get the install guide up for this file type which Andy_P very kindly wrote for us a week or so ago...!

Thanks. That seemed to have worked, although I didn't receive an overwrite warning like I used to with the other method. I wonder why the multiple file method stopped working. The only thing I can think is that it's either due to recent general updates or else the soft reset that the support representative asked me to do a few days ago while doing a map update. |

For what it's worth, I just updated the PGPSW speed cameras on my Go1015 using Firefox, and I am still able to select them "all at once" as usual.
Your problems won't have been anything to do with a soft reset, I do those all the time! But I can't think what else might have stopped it working for you.
I also tried it again using the zip file method and you''re right, you don't get an over-write warning. I've updated my install guide instructions (if we ever get to see them up in lights!), so thanks for that.

Hi
I am having the same problem updating my cam files to my Tomtom 2 blue and me device. I have myTomtom app installed on my device, and I have tried the one only zip file version on both mac and windows 7 in IE, Safari,Chrome and Firox. It all says I need not unzip the file first. If I unzip the file, I can only add the files one by one which is not an option!!! I have followed the instructions in the hep and instruction sections to no avail.
Please assist if possible. I have out of distress bought cam updates from another vendor, which consists as two files. They worked but I would love to use this database.
Thanks

Hi Michél, welcome to the forum.
With this method, you copy the zip file itself. Instead of unzipping, choose the zip file when you are asked which file to copy.

Hi Lupetto,
MaFt has asked me to look into your problem.
He mentioned that you were trying to add the SOUTH AFRICAN cameras, but you don't mention that in your post.
Are you?
I don't know much about the Blue and Me, but if it uses MyTomTom in the same way as the standard TomToms then it should all work.
I just downloaded and installed the South African camera files using the "MyTomTom zip" version of the database and it all worked fine.
As I just said in another topic, you DO have to use that special version, because the "normal" TomTom ov2 zip file has extra text files and stuff that MyTomTom doesn't like.
The "MyTomTom zip" version ONLY has the .ov2 data files, the .bmp icons and the .ogg audio files.
---------------------
Another thing I'd forgotten which MIGHT be your problem.....
On some models and software versions you have to do a 20-second power button reset to get all the newly added POIs to show. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Ahh! I think I might have a partial answer.....
To thoroughly test everything I could think of, I also installed MyTomTom on an ancient laptop and with Firefox 10 I did an upload to the TomTom of a zip file and of several individual files (I could select several at once).
Once I'd proved to myself that worked, I then updated the laptop to Firefox 11 and repeated the whole process. It worked perfectly every time.
The only possible difference was that the version of MyTomTom that got installed was v3.2.0.530. I had the box ticked to download beta versions if available, but no newer versions were offered. So I didn't know where your v3.2.0.567 came from!
Now I've looked it up... That's the latest MAC version number!
I have no idea if any of this works on a MAC!
Somehow I doubt it, as the MACs built-in unzipping function is very poor and cannot even unzip the normal PGPSW archives correctly.
Stick to the PC for now and see if you can work out where you are going wrong, because I simply cannot make it go wrong whatever I do...
But if you really can't get the new method to work, just extract the files from the zip archive and install them as per the original instructions. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Hi
It still does not take the file *.zip file, either in Windows, nor in OS X. I have tried all browsers and all configurations to no avail. If I unzip the files I can also not multi-select it!
Can you please help, as it is not an option to install all these files manually everytime!
Regards
