|
|
Hello, i am unable to hear any sound through my headunit over bluetooth although everything works fine through the phone itself. I have tried a few different settings on the phone and the app but had no joy, any suggestions ?
Phone is a Galaxy S2 running ics on an alpine headunit. |

Thanks for the reply, the unit is the cdr-wre203ri with the kct400bt adapter. This is taken from the item description,
A great system addition that gives you hands-free operation of your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone with full phonebook access and A2DP AV streaming and AVRCP Device Operation ready. Parrot software updates provide support for future phones.
Phone calls are fine. As soon as i enable bluetooth i lose sound from the app even with force sound through phone speaker enabled. |

Just to add i can play music from my phone via bluetooth fine so there must be a conflict with the app and the headunit. Also if i dis-connect from bluetooth whilst the app is running the app will freeze. |

If you force the sound through the phone speaker that will disable the Bluetooth sound route.
You say music is playing fine. What happens if you keep the music playing and then run CamerAlert? _________________ Lutz

Ok when i play music by selecting bt in on the stereo it all works as it should but theres nothing if i try to listen to the radio or cd. Is this how it should work or should it be able to interrupt with a warning over different sources? |

right now we only support the default audio , or the forced sound through the speaker. However there is a logic issue in the current version. If a BT A2DP connection is sensed, the "force through speaker" may not work.
In the new version we will have fixed the logic issue, and we will also give you another option - route through BT headset.
What you will not be able to do is for example play your music through the standard route, and force our sounds through A2DP. That is no longer possible to do in the Android SDK. _________________ Lutz

Ok please bear with me as im not sure what i should or shouldn,t be able to hear so if you can put it in laymans terms that would be great . Since the update i had lost all sound through the bt in on my stereo ie playing music from the phone which i had before. I subsequently found in the bluetooth options on my phone ( SG2 ) under profiles options for, use for phone audio and use for media audio. If i only select use for media audio i get sound through bt in on my headunit but i have them both selected i get nothing. If i leave it on just media i,ll get alerts but assume i,ll lose the phone call over bluetooth capability? So is this as good as it gets for me is there anything that can be done to enable full functionality via the headunit? |

Logs received. Turns out there is yet another bug on ICS that stupidly requires the BROADCAST_STICKY permission when opening a BT headset connection. We will push an update for that soon. Until it is out do not use BT headset output. _________________ Lutz

This is starting to make sense now. My car has built in BlueTooth and my Wildfire pairs to this automatically.
Since installing Cameralert I've been having a sound problem in that Cameralert is very quiet for the first warning and then the sound is non existent.
When I get the phone indoors, unpaired from the car, and I check my sound settings by flicking between male and female voices it's as loud as it needs to be. _________________ Satnav:

in the new version, try to set the CamerAlert sound to Bluetooth headset. If you do that and no bluetooth headset is connected, you will hear the sound from the earpiece (which is indeed not very loud) _________________ Lutz

Funnily enough, with the new version it's working OK
Only snag now is that my Wildfire S speaker is pathetic and even with it on full volume it only just manages to reach my Garmin sound level which is set at 60% _________________ Satnav:
