And not a single one of those 'problems' bothers me as I either live with it or don't use that function - i.e. my 940 works OK.

Did you see the inverted commas round the word 'problems'? I don't consider them 'problems', they don't bother me so as far as I'm concerned, my 940 works satisfactorily - as they say in America: 'Your mileage may vary.'

BTW - pretty colours... Wink

spook51, these "problems" don't bother me either but they do bother others and, besides that, it is the principle. I know, principles only cost you money.

I chose to buy my GO's because they have various functions not included in other TT's; functions which I use. Therefore, it irks me when TT decree that, following an update, I should no longer be able to use these functions.

Take, for example the recent removal of Bluetooth Transfer. I'm no programmer but I'd guess that this was a little program, taking up a small amount of memory and only using the CPU for a few occasional moments when called into life. i.e. Harmless. It had already been written and was included in previous NavCores, so why not just leave it alone? It's niggardly that they should remove it. For me, and others I guess, it's the perfect way to transfer my music, photos, etc. but especially POI's between my 730-930-940 . Ok, so there are still other ways to do this, but what gives TT the right to reduce the functions that I have paid for?

I am a Linux user and TT have never supported Linux (despite using it for their own ends - another sore point!) therefore I can't use TTHome which means that I'll never buy new maps - Fine By Me. Because to buy new maps (i.e. provide them with revenue) I'd be forced to upgrade to the latest NavCore and have TT's attitude foisted upon me (i.e. cost me a loss of functionality).

My GO's are on v8.351 and that is where they are staying until they go to the Great Satellite in the sky. I still have all of the functions I paid for and access to 3rd party programs to enhance their usefulness. I use RDS-TMC which fulfills my requirements. Thankfully, I do not have the need for LIVE services but I'd be livid with TT if that was a service I subscribed to.

TomTom are robbing their loyal customers which is a very bad and dangerous Business Plan in this modern, informed age. EDIT, and it's the principle!

Just down loaded 9.401 to both devices 750Live and 740Live
Why?
Had no choice with the 750 as the tick box was greyed out.

But I thought it only affected the 740 and the Live services.

Just tried them both
Phone--
Phone conections working OK on both.

Live Conections --
The 750L seems to be working OK and able to connect.
The 740L cannot connect - please try later.

I have waited 1/4 hour and tried again -- same -- is it me or a general fault., with the 740L

You're not alone, Maurice.
See my report in the "other" v9.401 topic here.

(wish we could merge topics!)

I've been running the new navcore for a few days now after getting 1008 error with 9.400. My traffic bar is generally up on the screen within a couple of minutes and connected within a further couple of minutes. I haven't experienced any loss of service whilst driving, although my recent journeys have been less than an hour.

I've just had an email from TT Support extending my LIVE subs by 14 days.

All in all I think I got off lightly compared to some people.
