They're not perfect representations but best we can do, they guides were written for the web and so we don't have any formatted document versions. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I keep telling you, I DON'T DO SUBTLE. "Men" is plural - there's two of us - that's plural.
plural - noun
(written abbreviation pl)
Definition
a word or form which expresses more than one
'Geese' is the plural of 'goose'.
'Woman' in the plural is 'women'.
'When' is the plural of 'one'
(Actually there's subtle in that last one - notice I've turned arowned the meaning). _________________ Dennis

I don't do subtle.
The "there's" was actually a pointing word, pointing at the pair of us. It's one pair, therefore singular. _________________ Dennis

Darren,
Well, well. Thank you very much for the pdf. I can now curl up in my favourite armchair and ensure that I have everything "as it should be" prior to our trip tomorrow, only 80 miles, but around 230 miles on Saturday. Again, thanks, I am most grateful. |

I am relieved that I am not the only frustrated by this. its all very well having cameralert going in the background, but if you cant see the cameras on the map it is very distracting while driving to be searching for them all over the place.
yes yes i know cameralert isnt going to show icons on a separate map, but why is it so difficult to acheive what used to be the norm - big icons on the map with a verbal warning.
i have asked for lots of help with this over the year and i am disappointed that the PGPSW guys get bored after a short while and move on to something else.
In trying to replace my aging Asus MyPal with Destinator 6, so far i have bought two andriod apps and a nuvi 3760 and i still cant get what i want - cameras that show on the map with big icons and customisable warnings.
Why is this so difficult, why has it got worse as these programs develop ??
I am clearly not the only one searching for this holy grail. |

| Presumably this is a rhetorical question. Perhaps if you stop ranting, people would be more inclined to help.
Possibly if you share with us which apps you are trying to put the database form here on, you might get an answer, but your posts do not give much of a clue.
In your other thread here you have just made statements, not asked for help |

yes that other thread was where i was making a statement about the wall I had come up against with the CP9, and was before I bought the nuvi 3760.
Currently I am trying to understand why the icons are so small on the nuvi 3760. The database is loaded via Camera Manager and ive used 24x24 icons, the icons are showing in the right places and i get verbal warnings for them. Its just that i can hardly see them on the map via a quick glance, which is what i am used to doing, rather than having a vague idea where they are and losing concentration on the road looking for them.
Previously i have discovered that Navigon wont import custom POIs, and that CP9 finally doesd import custom POIs but there are no alerts for them.
I originally asked for help finding a suitable solution in March on this thread http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=85415
My back is up, i have become very frustrated, spent alot of money trying to solve this and I am genuinely disappointed. |
