Have you tried our data? Also, have you seen the news that TomTom are launching a motorhome/caravan specific product shortly? _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor

Yes, I noticed that Alex. Their technobabble is quite clever but when you read it thoroughly they are selling POI data just like ours and not 'software' in the traditional sense.
The satnavs are unable to route around the bridges, the description basically says 'if a driver sees the low bridge icon on the screen they can drive a different way to avoid it and their satnav will reroute them.
It's no different (in how it works) to our data - both of us are limited to what the manufacturers offer for 3rd party POI support. Although their compatibility chart is wrong / out-dated.
Also, have you seen the news that TomTom are launching a motorhome/caravan specific product shortly?
I saw this mentioned elsewhere the other day. As usual, though, it will be pretty useless unless the underlying mapping database has full details of low bridges, road widths etc.
Given my experience of Tom Tom mapping in the past I think I should prefer to invest in a barge pole.
i purchased the poi's from lowbridges.com and hgv solutions, i can tell you,
lowbridges.com bridgex - 3512 bridges total, in the csv file, last update was 11-09-2011
hgv solutions have 3581 bridges total in csv file, last update was 16-02-2009
lowbridges.com weights and widths last update 10-10-2010
total number of weights in csv file - 2586
total number of widths in csv file - 1532
hgv solutions weights and widths, last update 16-02-2009
total number of weights in csv file - 1835
total number of widths in csv file - 306
my advice, dont buy hgv solutions or lowbridges bridgex,
use the free low bridges from pgps world,
lowbridges.com have more weights and widths than hgv solutions,
so £9.95 is good value for that.
best of all, get a garmin 560lt trucking sat nav
