was wondering if the only way to update the maps is to purchase them grom the garmin site
some places that are obviously newer than 3 year old arent on my satnav and id like to update but cant find anywhere else and garmin site seems quite pricey
thanks |

Main difference as I said is that you generally can't do full address search, postcode lookup etc. Have a look at the websites to see how you download/install them. You can have them loaded along with the Garmin mapset, and use both, so could use the Garmin map when you need full routing/address capability. |

They appear to be 'scratch card' type thing that then give you access to download the Garmin map update . Most of the critisism of the product is slow download. This will be the case anyway, not confined to the one on Amazon. Big download = long time on a slow Internet connection. |

I wouldn't imagine that it would be longer than a 'normal' download of Garmin Maps. |
