This is not a major issues, but I have noticed recently that after installing PGPRW CamerAlerts as POIs some of the display settings on my 1005 are reset. An example is the "handing" of the screen; I normally set up my screen to operate left handed so that the zoom bar is on the left of the screen. However after loading the new alerts each week the screen resets to "right handed". As I say its not a major issue as I can easily reset the display, but I wondered if anyone else had any similar effects.

I use My TomTom and Google Chrome as the software to add the POIs.

I have only found a couple of settings that change so far, the other being the base zoom for the View Screen option.

Confused

Alan

It certainly *shouldn't* be anything to do with updating the POIs/Camera files...
If you've ever had am older model TomTom where you install the files manually, you'll know that all you're doing is replacing some files with newer ones of exactly the same name. Nothing else needs to be altered.

Now I *think* that the same thing is happening with the new models and MyTomTom (i.e. you are just replacing the old files with the new) but as the exact process is hidden from us now, anything COULD be happening.

However, your experience is certainly not commonplace... I've been updating PGPSW speed cameras on a Go1000 and Go1005 for a long time now and I'm also left-handed, but I've never seen the "Handedness" revert back after an update.

Trouble is, a lot of our standard "fixes" like re-installing the Navcore software, can't be done on the new units.

All I can suggest you try is a "20 second hold of the power switch" reset, or if that doesn't work, a return to factory settings (from the settings menu).
