Thanks Darren!

That sounds then like an .mp4 copy could be easily copied/exported to a court/police office still in its 'tamper-proof' mode as 'evidence'?

Yes indeed, so long as the data is unmodified, not cut or tampered with, then the geo data is retained.

If it's missing then the inference would be that it is not 'virgin'.

was hoping after 2 years that the quality of the picture would at lest be able to read a license plat that is 1 car length away but still no, so don't count on it in a hit and run.

I'd argue that point. Whilst a Hit'n'Run is a very unique example, the evidence from the camera is still useful and I have example video where the number plates are readable at a car length or more.

For higher quality you're looking at HD which will consume memory card space at a rate of knots and would prove impractical for most purposes.

But even if the whole plate isn't, a partial will assist the Police trace when they have make, model and colour.

i would go for a 16 gig min memory card of high quality to start as the 4 gig is just a wast.

That depends. You would surely know when you had captured an event that you wished to save? In that case you could copy it off. Otherwise, for most people, six hours of video is more than enough.

But with a higher capacity SD card, you could have HD and still get 6 hours of recording!

I think I read somewhere that they are bringing out an HD version "in the summer". Has the summer arrived yet?

Has Pocket GPS World tested any other makes? The BlackVue DR400g HD claims to do everything which the DC-1 does AND records in 1920 x 1080HD. Do any of you have any experience of this one?

We hope to have a RoadHawk HD model soon and we are testing another at the moment.

Does "another" mean an HD model from a make other than RoadHawk?

Are you going to tell us any more - like make and model, and when you'll be reporting?

I'm not reviewing it so I don't have the details. It's being reviewed at the moment, I don't know much more.

Any news about the Roadhawk HD version?

I have read the DriveCam review, but I would prefer something without a display, making it smaller and less visible.

I would have needed it in April, when a I was slapped in the overtaking lane of the A91 Roma Fiumicino highway...

No news as yet, there was a delay but they have promised we'll get a review unit as soon as they have the product.

Have you looked at the BlackVue HD? That's very small and doesn't have a display.

I bought mine after a lorry backed into me. Fortunately, I had witnesses and the third party accepted liability - but otherwise they may easily have claimed that I ran into the back of the lorry.

Yes, it would be nice if PocketGPSWorld reviewed it.

There IS a review at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e49KuBR5r74 but I don't know how independent it is.

If you have any specific questions, ask them here and I'll share my own experience of it.
