Well the update works on my 9700 but on my 9800 the program will begin to load then close. Useless at the moment. Tried redownloading but still doesn't work. Any suggestions? |

|
|
Hi guys,
The new version (5.41b49) has loaded on my Torch (6.0.0.486) fine. The update could certainly have been handled better (On Thursday I was driving using the old version of the app, it closed itself, and when trying to restart I was left with the same 'file not found as everyone else). Fortunately by that time I was close enough to my destination to get there OK. However, once the file was available that evening it installed with no trouble.
I've done a couple of journeys since, and have made these observations:
Now doesn't seem to hang if you go back to the home screen while it's loading on the splash screen. Much better.
Generally seems much louder on my Torch (as discussed in previous threads) and is now a usable volume. Many thanks.
The speed camera alerts now have a '3 star zone' audio alert which gets a bit wearing after a while. It would be nice to be able to disable just some of the audio alerts.
'Nearby' functionality doesn't seem to work properly in the UK yet. I've tried McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Subway, BP Gas Stations and all of those give no results. ATM, restaurants, tourist, Gas Stations, Parking, Rest areas & airports all give results as expected.
Satellite lock and rough location from mobile network both very quick.
Routing seems very good as before.
Traffic event info (from bottom ribbon Traffic button) has extremely tiny writing. Obviously no-one would try to use the app while driving - but that writing's too small to read with the phone in the hand at a normal distance.
Backlight economy still doesn't seem to work. It worked on just one build quite some time ago on the Bold - but doesn't seem to have worked since. It would be a really nice feature.
In general it's a really good build. A few things still to iron out but it's getting better all the time.
Cheers. Dave |

Hi all,
Just come here to say the download has worked on my BB Torch.
I opened Telmap on my phone & followed instructions to upgrade from there. All seems to be ok, so far i've tried to download a map to somewhere here in the UK & it worked fine, quick & smooth, the audio seems louder & clearer. I will take it out on the road this weekend to fully try it out... will report back here soon.
Shalom!!

In this moment my experience it is negative . The new version is not so fast . In the last version prepare a route it was more easy .
The street name in the route don't appear :-(
I do not understand why the program is so slow. Even without link the nearby interesting points...
I hope that in next days worke better. |

Installed this last week and tested it this week on a trip to Germany. Worked great. Was really impressed it had the speed cameras as well. Nice and fast this release. Good work.
PS on a BB 9700 OS6 |
