Range for me is unchanged.
From Peterborough, furthest I can see traffic is M1 Luton.
Hopefully this may change later today. _________________ Mick

Seems that they are playing about with the service behind the scenes as my GO 950 is showing the older reduced range again! _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

As far as I can see, from my location in Morpeth (NE61), I could see traffic around Edinburgh. A straight line distance of about 90 miles!
My furthest incident North of me is 84.262 Miles/ 135.6 Km away from me, South of me is York at a straight line distance of 86.111 Miles/ 138.58 Km away.
This is seen on a GO 950 LIVE.

Thank you. LIVE services are supposed to be coming to Canada at some time in the future and a 50 mile limitation where I live (Toronto) would have rendered Traffic almost useless, especially for those coming in from the North. _________________ David |

I checked using lat and long, and it worked out that the furthest distance traffic can be seen from my location is 48.281 miles.
So 50 miles limit is still in place _________________ Mick

Today from London I can see all the South Coast as far west as Bournemouth, Wolverhampton, Kings Lynn & Norwich, so a good improvement there. _________________ Drivelux |

Have been keeping an amusing but constant watch on HD traffic as it changes on my Go950 (quiet time in the office).
The range did go out as far as Calais, France for me for about 15 minutes.
But, seems to have stabilised and a check on the lat & Long has shown straight line distance to furthest traffic now is 75 miles/120km.
So it would appear TomTom has listened to its customers _________________ Mick

Traffic now shows as far as Norwich and Peterborough, both 91 miles as the crow flies. (From Medway, Kent).
Just need more via's and I'll be happy, even if it's only 4 to start with. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

From Hitchin it's showing about 100 mile radius as the crow flies, Derby, Newark, Norwich, Birmingham, Bournemouth. |

From Kenneth,
You will indeed have noticed some fluctuations today. Testing is still ongoing - I don't have all the details yet.
What we're doing today is just the first step. We'll update you further as soon as we can.

If they are supplying and D/Loading the longer range data to the device before suppression, how on earth does this lighten the load on the server? |
It might be valid if the first download is for every thing and then subsequent downloads are just new and updates, especially if the device has to upload which incident ids it is interested in (of course with TomTom there is no telling they did it the logical) _________________ J. |

I believe the range has been increased to 75 miles - the 120Km mentioned by Kenneth. My screenshots from today...
Full initial download - from Swindon it shows incidents at Dover, well over 150 crowflies miles (see the scale bar at the top to determine the range).
Now the (reduced, 75 mile) range from Bristol.
With the luxury of several devices, I left the 550 Live on Browse Traffic Map as I drove to Swindon from Bristol (40 miles driving, 30 as the crow flies) to watch any changes and was able to eventually see it display more westerly incidents, into the centre of London.

Pretty much what I am seeing as well Dennis.
A step in the right direction, definitely, but still not what we used to have |

I've just planned a trip from Swindon to Cannock and HD Traffic is showing slow traffic from Jct8-Jct12 on the M6; by my reckoning, that's about 95 miles away, probably 75 miles straight line. |
